TikTok Made Me Play It

TikTok makes a huge play into video game marketing with TikTokMadeMePlayIt (scriptwriter, concept developer)

Definitely my favorite thing I’ve created at TikTok, and at the time I wasn’t even on the creative team.

At this point, I was a strategy lead, looking for a way to go back to copywriting. And lemme tell ya, I found the perfect way in.

TikTok’s B2B arm cannonballed into the deep end with TikTokMadeMePlayIt, a video variety show all about TikTok’s ability to build community and culture through video game IP. We had a TikTok creator as a host (VBunny), an intro by a TikTok exec, two more creators in a sketch, and a slate of interviews from our video game brand partners.

In a pinch, there was no writer to take this on, but the creative lead on this project knew I loved video games and had a writing background. I got the go-ahead to write this script, and worked closely with the video producer and creative director throughout the process, and pitched several of the final concept segments. To date, it’s the most fun I’ve had at TikTok, and an eyebrow-raising story to boot.
